Psychologists in Springwood
Most people arrive at our door having waited a while. Sometimes they’ve been on a list somewhere else. Sometimes they’ve been told to come back if things get worse. Often they’ve simply been hoping it would sort itself out.
Our Springwood clinic was built with that in mind. It’s a purpose-built, eight-room space designed from the ground up to feel calm rather than clinical β sensory-friendly rooms, natural light, and a nature-based therapy garden that gets used as much as any consulting room. It’s our primary location and home to our full multidisciplinary team.
Appointments Outside Work and School Hours
One of the most common reasons people put off starting therapy is that they can’t take the time off. So we open early, stay late, and see clients on Saturdays.
- Monday to Thursday β 7:30am to 8:00pm
- Friday β 7:30am to 4:00pm
- Saturday β 8:00am to 3:00pm
That means a session before the school run, after work, or on a weekend β without explaining an absence to anyone. For teenagers especially, an after-school or Saturday appointment often makes the difference between attending consistently and quietly dropping off.
A Clinic Designed Around How People Actually Feel
Most allied health clinics are offices that happen to have therapists in them. Ours was designed the other way around.
Sensory-friendly rooms. Lighting, sound and layout were considered for people who find ordinary environments overwhelming. For an autistic child, an ADHDer, or an adult managing sensory sensitivity, the room itself does some of the work before anyone says a word.
A nature-based therapy garden. Not decoration. Some children talk more easily while walking than while sitting opposite an adult. Some sessions go better outside. Having that option changes what’s possible, particularly with young people who find a consulting room confronting.
Eight rooms and a full team under one roof. A child can see a speech pathologist and an occupational therapist in the same building, with clinicians who actually talk to each other. Families aren’t couriering information between providers.
Parking right at the door. Plenty of on-site parking, including wheelchair-accessible spaces. No meters, no hunting for a spot, no long walk from the car β which matters if you’re arriving with a pram, a wheelchair, a walking frame, or a child who is already close to overwhelmed.
A calm arrival. Our reception is quiet and unhurried. If your child needs to arrive early and settle, that’s fine. If they need to leave the room, that’s fine too.

We Also Come to You
Our occupational therapists and speech pathologists travel within approximately 10km of the Springwood clinic for home, kindy and school visits.
This matters more than it might sound. Watching a child at a real family mealtime, or in an actual classroom, usually reveals more than a clinic session ever will β and it lets us work directly with the teachers and educators who are with your child every day. You can read more about our speech pathology and occupational therapy visits across Logan.
The Springwood Team
Springwood is home to our full multidisciplinary team β clinical psychologists, educational and developmental psychologists, general and organisational psychologists, accredited mental health social workers, occupational therapists and speech pathologists, alongside our client support team.
Between them they cover children from early childhood through to adults and older adults, with special interests spanning neurodiversity, trauma and EMDR, veterans and first responders, chronic health conditions, workplace and organisational psychology, couples work, and paediatric development.
Rather than guessing who might suit you, give us a call β matching people thoughtfully to a clinician is something we take seriously, and it’s what our intake conversation is for. You can also browse everyone’s full profiles on our team page.
Why Families Choose Springwood
Everything in one place. If your child needs speech pathology now and occupational therapy in six months, you don’t start again with a new practice. If an assessment clarifies things, the therapy that follows happens with people who already know your family.
Appointments that fit around real life. Early mornings, evenings until 8pm, and Saturdays β so therapy doesn’t cost you a day’s work or a day of school.
Accessible from the car park in. On-site wheelchair-accessible parking and a step-free arrival, which matters for NDIS participants, people with mobility needs, and anyone bringing a pram.
The environment is genuinely different. Purpose-built and sensory-considered isn’t marketing language here β it’s why some children who couldn’t manage sessions elsewhere manage them with us.
Neuro-affirming, not just neurodiversity-aware. We work with how your brain is wired rather than trying to correct it. That shapes how we assess, how we write reports, and how we talk to your child about themselves.
Assessments that lead somewhere. A diagnosis on its own changes very little. Our reports are written to be used β by schools, by NDIS, by you β and the team who wrote them is right there when you want to act on them.
Areas We Service
Springwood sits just off the M1, which makes it straightforward to reach from across Logan and Brisbane’s south. Our clients come from Underwood, Rochedale, Daisy Hill, Shailer Park, Slacks Creek, Loganholme, Woodridge, Kingston, Priestdale, Cornubia and further afield.
If you’re closer to the southern end of Logan, our Browns Plains clinic may be more convenient for psychology and counselling β though assessments, occupational therapy and speech pathology run from Springwood regardless.

Common Questions
What are your opening hours?
Appointments run Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 8:00pm, Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm, and Saturday from 8:00am to 3:00pm. Our reception team answers calls Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm β outside those hours, leave a message or email and we’ll come back to you.
Do you have after-work or Saturday appointments?
Yes. Evening appointments run until 8:00pm Monday to Thursday, and we see clients on Saturdays until 3:00pm. These sessions are popular, so it’s worth asking early about availability.
Is the clinic wheelchair accessible?
Yes. There’s on-site wheelchair-accessible parking close to the entrance. If you have specific access needs, let us know when you book and we’ll make sure everything is set up before you arrive.
Do you do ADHD and autism assessments at Springwood?
Yes. All of our assessments β ADHD, autism, cognitive and learning β are conducted at Springwood. Wait times vary, so it’s worth calling to ask where things stand.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can contact us directly for any of our services. A GP referral under a Mental Health Treatment Plan enables a Medicare rebate for psychology, and a Chronic Disease Management plan can apply to allied health β but neither is required to get started.
Do you work with NDIS participants?
Yes β we work with plan-managed and self-managed participants across psychology, occupational therapy, speech pathology and mental health social work, including functional capacity assessments and reports for plan reviews.
How young can children be?
Our occupational therapy and speech pathology services start from around age two. Early intervention with very young children often looks like parent coaching rather than direct therapy, and it’s some of the most effective work we do.
Can we see more than one clinician?
Yes, and many families do. We’d usually suggest starting with whichever difficulty is having the biggest impact rather than everything at once β it’s less exhausting for your child, and it’s easier to tell what’s working.
Can I look around before booking?
You’re welcome to β just call and we’ll arrange a time. You can also see photos of the clinic. For some children, seeing the space beforehand makes the first session considerably easier.
