Anxiety Support
Anxiety can show up in so many different ways — constant worry that’s hard to switch off, a racing heart before something completely ordinary, avoiding situations that feel too overwhelming, or a sense of dread that doesn’t seem to have a clear cause. Whatever it looks like for you, anxiety is genuinely treatable, and you don’t have to keep managing it on your own.
How Anxiety Can Show Up
We support children, teens and adults with a wide range of anxiety presentations, including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, and anxiety connected to specific life events or transitions. For children and teens, anxiety might look like school refusal, meltdowns around change, or physical complaints like stomach aches before school. For adults, it often shows up as persistent worry, difficulty relaxing, avoidance, or physical symptoms like a racing heart, tight chest or trouble sleeping.
How We Help
Our psychologists use evidence-based approaches — most commonly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), alongside mindfulness-based strategies — to help you understand what’s driving your anxiety and build practical tools to manage it. We work at your pace, in a calm and non-judgemental space, whether you’re looking for short-term strategies or longer-term support.
For children and teens, our psychologists work closely with families to build coping skills and strategies that carry through into school and everyday life, not just the therapy room.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to see someone for anxiety?
No formal referral is required to book with us directly. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, let us know so we can confirm any Medicare rebates that may apply.
Can you help with anxiety in children?
Yes — our child and teen psychologists work with young people experiencing anxiety, including school-related anxiety, using warm, age-appropriate, strengths-based approaches.
Is telehealth available for anxiety support?
Yes, many of our anxiety-focused sessions are available by phone or video, in addition to in-person appointments at Springwood or Browns Plains.
How much does therapy for anxiety cost?
Costs vary depending on individual needs. We offer a free intake call to talk through your situation, explain your options and give you clear pricing before you commit to anything.
