Psychology Assessments
Understanding how someone’s brain works is often the first step towards the right support. Whether you’re seeking clarity for yourself, your child, or someone you care for, a psychological assessment can offer genuine insight — not a label to define someone, but a clearer picture of their strengths, needs and how best to support them.
Our assessments are conducted at our Springwood clinic. Some appointments, such as initial consultations, parent/carer interviews and feedback sessions, may be available via telehealth — testing sessions themselves are generally conducted face-to-face for accuracy and comfort. We’re happy to talk through what will work best for your situation.
ADHD Assessments
ADHD can look different in every person — from difficulty with focus and organisation to restlessness, impulsivity, or a mind that moves faster than the world around it. Our psychologists conduct comprehensive ADHD assessments for children, teens and adults, drawing on clinical interviews, standardised questionnaires and, where appropriate, cognitive testing.
We take a neuro-affirming approach throughout — the goal isn’t to “fix” anyone, but to understand how their brain works and identify practical strategies and supports that genuinely help, whether at school, at work, or at home.
Autism Assessments
Autism assessments help build a clearer understanding of how someone experiences and interacts with the world — their sensory needs, communication style, social preferences and strengths. We assess children, teens and adults using gold-standard tools alongside developmental history, observation and, where relevant, information from family, carers or teachers.
We approach every assessment from a strengths-based, neuro-affirming perspective. An autism diagnosis can open the door to NDIS funding, school supports and a deeper understanding of oneself — and we aim to make the process feel respectful, comfortable and collaborative from start to finish.
Cognitive Assessments
Cognitive assessments measure how someone thinks, reasons, remembers and processes information. They can help explain why a child might be finding schoolwork harder than expected, support giftedness identification, clarify functioning following an injury or illness, or provide a clearer picture of someone’s overall cognitive profile.
Results are explained in plain language during a feedback session, with a written report you can share with schools, other health professionals, or support coordinators as needed.
Learning Assessments
If a child or teen is struggling with reading, writing, maths, or keeping up in the classroom despite support, a learning assessment can help identify what’s really going on — whether that’s a specific learning disorder like dyslexia or dyscalculia, or another factor affecting learning.
Our assessments provide clear, actionable recommendations for home and school, and can support applications for learning adjustments, tutoring, or additional educational funding.
What to Expect

Fees & Funding
Assessment fees vary depending on the type and complexity of assessment required. Please contact us directly to discuss pricing for your situation.
- If your Mental Health Care Plan specifically states you are attending for an ADHD assessment, you may be able to claim a Medicare rebate on the intake, assessment and feedback sessions.
- NDIS participants (plan-managed and self-managed) are welcome.
- There are out-of-pocket costs associated with all assessments — we’ll always confirm these with you before booking.

Do I need a referral?
No referral is required to book an assessment with us directly. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan or NDIS plan, let us know so we can confirm what rebates or funding may apply.
