Occupational Therapy Fees & Rebates

Our occupational therapy services are available for both children and adults, with a strong
focus on supporting individuals to build independence, emotional regulation, and practical
daily skills. OT can be especially helpful for neurodivergent clients, those experiencing
sensory processing differences, motor coordination challenges, developmental delays, and
difficulties with executive functioning.

Sessions are always tailored to individual needs and goals. They may take place in our
purpose-built clinic, outdoors in our sensory garden, or in familiar environments like home
or school.
Below is a breakdown of our fees, along with information on available funding options
through NDIS, Medicare CDM plans, and private health insurance.

Private Client Fees
Our OT fees are based on a standard private hourly rate of $240/hr.

Travel & Mobile Services

  • Travel charged at $97/hr + $1.00/km (round-trip)
    • 15 minutes travel → ~$24.25
    • 30 minutes travel → ~$48.50
  • Maximum travel window – 30 minutes each way
  • Sessions beyond this radius by prior agreement only

Standard Session 
Time Split: 50 minutes direct therapy / 10 minutes indirect work

Extended Therapy Session – 70 minutes
Time Split: Adjusted to individual needs

This session may be used when:

  • The client requires additional time to settle or regulate
  • Therapy involves school or service coordination
  • Extra communication (emails, phone calls) is required after sessions

Note: Direct therapy time may be adjusted if increased liaison (e.g., regular school contact) is needed to keep total session time appropriate.

Comprehensive Therapy Session – 90 minutes

Time Split: 60 minutes direct therapy / 30 minutes indirect work

Recommended when therapy is more complex or resource-intensive. Common reasons include:

  • Significant regulation or transition time before therapy can begin
  • Consistent follow-up communication with parents, schools, or support teams
  • Complex presentations requiring detailed planning and adaptation
  • Preparation or creation of individualised resources
  • Detailed documentation, reports, or clinical reasoning

Includes:

  • Extended therapy time for meaningful engagement
  • Preparation of tailored resources and strategies
  • Professional communication (emails, phone calls, collaboration)
  • Thorough documentation to support goal progression

Medicare Rebates – CDM Plan
Clients with a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan from their GP may be eligible for up
to 5 subsidized allied health sessions per year, across all services (e.g., OT, physio, psych).

  • Medicare item number: 10958 (Occupational Therapy)
  • Rebate amount: approx. $58 per session
  • Eligibility: Must have a chronic condition lasting 6+ months (e.g., autism, developmental
    delay, ADHD)
    We’ll always confirm session fees, travel costs (if applicable), and available rebates with you
    before your first appointment. Our team is happy to answer any questions or liaise with
    your GP, support coordinator, or plan manager.
